I love watercolor washes that flow from one color to the next so I decided to see if I could replicate it with Copic markers on synthetic Yupo paper. I wanted the colors to be bright and intense so I chose colors from the Copic fluorescent family – FYG2, FB2, FV2.
Using Distress Ink as a watercolor, I added some Shabby Shutters to the peas (adding some additional interest with some colored pencil over the top) and did an overall wash of the background with Evergreen Bough.
The next thing I wanted to try with the Brusho was a wash with purples and blues. I used a 12″ piece of Arches hot pressed water color paper so that I would have plenty of room to work with. The colors are so rich and the paper so nice and thick and accepting of the pigment, which in some cases is smooth and other cases granulated. I wish you touch this!
