The next thing I wanted to try with the Brusho was a wash with purples and blues. I used a 12″ piece of Arches hot pressed water color paper so that I would have plenty of room to work with. The colors are so rich and the paper so nice and thick and accepting of the pigment, which in some cases is smooth and other cases granulated. I wish you touch this!
The background is a variety of copic inks in reds, oranges and yellows on Yupo paper. After I applied some abstract patterns, I placed a stencil on top and and tapped in some Colorless Blender. “Gratitude” is hand lettered with a Copic medium brush pen on manila folder paper and then stained and inked with reds and purples and a Vintage Photo brown from Distress.
For the background I first applied some pink and purple alcohol inks to Yupo paper. When it was dry, I stamped the ranunculus (Simon Says Stamp) with red Archival ink (Ranger). I made the pink ranunculus by wiping off the red ink with a cloth before it dried. I die cut the Hero arts “hello” from some foam, adhered it to the card and added some black enamel dots.
I’ve added this to my Etsy shop which you can see here.
