Creative Chemistry 101: Perfect Distress

Here is another project using Perfect Pearls Powder in the Creative Chemistry series from Online Card Classes. For this technique, we lightly covered our tag with Distress Ink and then stamped an image using a darker Distress Ink. I chose a wood grain image. I then dusted the stamped image with copper Perfect Pearls Powder. We gently misted with water, quickly dried it, and then added Distress Ink around the edges.

Can you see that copper shimmer?

Creative Chemistry 101: Perfect Splatter Distress

I am so glad that Tim Holtz chose another project using Perfect Pearls Powder for the Creative Chemistry series in the Online Card Classes. For this technique, we put different colors of Distress Ink directly on our craft sheet and then scattered tiny scoops of Perfect Pearls Powder. I used copper and gold Pearls. Mist everything with water, press tag into the ink and pearls, dry and repeat until you have used up as much as you can from the craft sheet. Edge the tag with Distress Ink.

Creative Chemistry 101: Perfect Distress Mist

Another project in the third week of the Creative Chemistry series in Online Card Classes introduced us to Perfect Pearls Powder. A couple of weeks ago, we made our own Distress Ink mist by adding some of the re-inker fluid to some water in a mini-mister. For this technique, we added a tiny scoop of Perfect Pearls to the previously prepared ink mist. I used copper, silver and gold Pearls, adding one of those to each of my misters.  I shook them up really well to make sure they were blended and then began misting the tag with each color, drying after each layer.

I just love the way the metallic pearl blends with the colors and how it all comes together on the tag.
