I am taking a class with Kristy Rice on Craftsy – Fresh Florals. I love her expressive style and bright colors so I am enjoying the process. This is the beginning of a peony flower.

Using Distress Ink as a watercolor, I added some Shabby Shutters to the peas (adding some additional interest with some colored pencil over the top) and did an overall wash of the background with Evergreen Bough.
Today I went in with a 2nd layer of color but used colored pencil on the petals, stems and leaves.
