Bon Voyage Wrap

fullsizerender-94

What to do for that special person who is going on the adventure of a lifetime by moving to a whole new country?  Well you send them off with a set of markers and a coloring book wrapped in custom paper!  I embellished a section of Scotch polka dot postal wrap with stamps from the Hero Arts Bon Voyage set and Ranger Archival inks.  Over and around each polka dot, I applied Distress Gathered Twigs.  The packages were then tied together with a red ribbon from Hero Arts.

Merry & Bright and Distressed

First I stamped some Ranger Gloss Paper with the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Dots & Hearts background stamp in Ranger Archival Carnation Red. On top of that I took stamps from the Simon Says Stamp Merry and Bright kit (hearts, flowers, asterisks and snowflakes) and stamped them in other bright colored Ranger Archival Inks.  After I heat set that I applied some Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and buffed it out over the images.   I then stamped the gifts, Christmas tree and sentiment in black archival ink .  The polka dot paper in the kit is from Doodlebug and I cut that down and went around the edges with the Gathered Twigs. The kit was tied with a red ribbon so I cut some of that, applied Gathered Twigs to it, tied it and adhered it to the top of the tag made from Simon Says Stamp Green Apple cardstock.

Confetti Starry Night

I die cut the Hero Arts Confetti Stars into some Tim Holtz Heavy stock.  I Distressed the stock with Evergreen Bough, Iced Spruce, Mustard Seed, Wild Honey and Gathered Twigs.  Over the top of that, I put some white gel pen dots and Shimmer Spray. After heat setting, this piece was adhered to some Simon Says Stamp Surf Blue card stock.

Cherry Blossoms and Garden Roses in Distress

fullsizerender-83I took another page from the Garden Roses and Cherry Blossoms page from Kristy Rice watercolor coloring book, copied onto Copic blending paper, and colored the flowers, leaves and branches with Copic markers (RV0000, RV00, RV91, R85, R39, G21, G24, G29, G99) .  In and around the flowers I used Distress Ink (Antique Linen, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain) and then spritzed with water.

Fall Flower Frenzy!

I embossed a Ranger heavy stock tag with a fun folder from Simon Says Stamp – Flower Frenzy! On top of that I used the following Distress Inks (Fired Brick, Peacock Feathers, Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint, Rusty Hinge, Gathered Twigs).  In between the layers of ink, I sprayed some Ranger Perfect Pearls that I mixed with some Ranger Ink and put in a mini-mister. In person, you can really see that shimmer!

Celestial Copper Blues

I applied a number of layers various shades of blue Copic ink on to Yupo paper and used a sea sponge to create patterns in the ink. After it was completely dry I used the Celestial Copper Delicata pigment ink with the Holiday Floral – Bold Print background stamp.  I love the contrast and the way the florals float on the sea of blues.

Fall Ranunculus

I cannot get enough of these Sketch Ranunculus from Simon Says Stamp.  I embossed them with Ranger Liquid Platinum on the Tim Holtz heavy card stock tag and then I applied Distress ink (barn door, wild honey, ripe persimmon, twisted citron, crushed olive, shabby shutters, ground espresso).

Flower floral

The flower is colored with Copic marker (image from a Copic workshop all about flowers!) and topped off with Distress Ink (vintage photo). The tag is a new heavy duty stock by Tim Holtz.  I used Distress Stain (tarnished brass, mowed lawn, crushed olive) and then stamped the Hero Arts Holiday Floral – Bold Prints over the top with Ranger’s Carnation Red Archival Ink. On top of that I added some additional Distress Ink (carved pumpkin, mowed lawn, vintage photo).

Holiday Florals – Bold Prints

Hero Arts just came out with this 6×6 Holiday florals stamp – bold prints.  I stamped it on the new Tim Holtz heavy stock and then embossed it with Ranger’s Liquid Platinum embossing powder.  I then used Distress Ink (Evergreen bough, Candied Apple, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain) and spritzed it with water and dried.  The pattern is bold and beautiful!

Distressed paper source

fullsizerender-76

A while ago I experimented with zig clean color markers on this letterpress card I received in the mail that was purchased at Paper Source. I decided to continue the experiment by putting some distress micro glaze over the pink flower to keep it bright and then adding Distress stain and ink to the rest of the card. I finished it off with some shimmer spray just to see what it would look like.
